Forgiveness

One of the greatest things that I’ve learned throughout the journey that I’ve been on with my daughter is the act of forgiveness..

Now don’t get me wrong it wasn’t easy at first because I am still human and I was a mother whose child was injured, so I’m not going to lie when I first found out the details of my daughter’s accident at the time I did see red and it was about vengeance, but the more I got into His Word and prayed about it the more it became about compassion and forgiveness.

In fact, the week prior to moving back home to New York. I actually reached out to the gentleman who hit my daughter to let him know that I forgave him and that I realized that he was being used just like Taylor was so I no longer harbored any animosity nor contempt towards him and he actually embraced me with the most warmest the most remorseful the most sincerest heartfelt hug ever!!!

Which it wasn’t until later on that I discovered that he had a daughter that was Taylor’s age, so sometimes extending a little forgiveness to someone is more about healing them than it does in turn heal you!
